Ed Lover Confirms Katt Williams’ Claim That Steve Harvey ‘Hated’ On Bernie Mac

Ed Lover has seemed to confirm Katt Williams‘ claims about Steve Harvey and his difficulties with Bernie Mac.

The legendary DJ dropped a new episode of his C’Mon Son! podcast on Friday (January 5), where he backed up Williams’ story that the comedian shared on the latest episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast.

“He [Williams] goes on to say that he was supposed to be one of the Kings of Comedy — that they approached him after Bernie passed,” he said in the episode. “But he didn’t want to go on the Kings of Comedy tour because of Steve Harvey’s treatment of Bernie Mac. He has a lot of respect for Bernie Mac.”

After explaining that he’d been a friend of Bernie Mac’s until the day he died, Ed Lover continued: “The stuff that Katt Williams said about Steve Harvey calling to try to get Bernie’s role on Oceans 11, and that kind of stuff? Bernie told me out of his own mouth.”

“I believe Bernie Mac when he said Steve Harvey hated on him,” he concluded.

Katt Williams certainly shook the table with his appearance on Club Shay Shay on Thursday (January 4), but he saved most of his vitriol for Steve Harvey.

“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” he said in the interview. “Now Steve got a sitcom where he the principal, and he wear a suit. And then he gets this high-top fade, making all Black men think he got the best lineup in the business. And it’s a man unit.”

He continued: “Then you ask him, ‘Why you not a movie star?’ ‘I didn’t want to be a movie star.’ This the same negro that hated on Bernie [Mac] with this same thing. There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good […] and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”

During the almost three-hour conversation, Williams also took a shot at Ludacris by claiming he landed his role in the Fast & Furious franchise by making a deal with the Illuminati.

“So there was a crossroads where we were both invited to an Illuminati thing, and it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made,” he said. “So it was both of us, we were equal. One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more, with the points.”

He added: “And the next person they said was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him $10 million a movie to do 20 movies. And that’s how the conversation happened. One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris, and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.”

The Friday After Next star made things more personal by saying the rapper “ended up with a light-skinned ugly-face wife.”

Ludacris hit back hours later by spitting a not-so-subliminal freestyle over Kanye West‘s “Devil In a New Dress” in which he addressed Williams’ Illuminati claims.

“Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati/ And I only left with bitches when coming from any party/ Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life/ Never been a clout-chaser, never say shit for likes,” he rapped in a video filmed in the studio.

    1. Everybody acting like confirmation that Steve is a self-righteous asshole is breaking news. That’s mainly why people don’t like him, but guess what. He’s a self-righteous asshole. I doubt he cares.

    2. So what? Everyone doesn’t like everybody, that’s not a crime. This era is so high school like it’s crazy.

      1. Not just this era. Comics have always been like this. I could take this and apply it to Redd Foxx not liking Cosby for some of the same reasons 50 years ago that Kat said about Kevin Hart. Pryor over Cosby. Pryor getting salty at Eddie Murphy after he surpassed him although he was his mentor. I just think Kat is a bit delusional, but the guy is clearly a genius and a very good comic. But these rifts or even the divisions aren’t new where people on the bottom envy and cut down those who surpassed them.

    3. Cool… Katt told a “stolen” joke in ‘98. Kings of Comedy was a quarter century ago. Friday After Next came out in ‘02. Bernie RIP died in ‘08. It’s 2024, ffs. Katt is clearly bitter, and envious of the success these other dudes have. Because there’s no honor in “standing on business” if you’re gonna whine and gossip about it. And all this from a dude who sucker punches 7th graders. No wonder Hollywood doesn’t eff with him. He’s his own worst enemy, burning every bridge in sight When keeping it real goes wrong, part infinity.

      1. Maybe they shouldn`t have talked about him first?
Katt is on his 19th 100 city tour.
What has any of them done lately exept Steve Harvey?

      2. Excuse you all that he talks about has done better than him that’s why he talking if he had it all that he thinks he is believe you me we wouldn’t keep hearing this shit from him AGIN he stating to sound like Monique ” his little wired ass always crying…this is one of some Blk folks problems always cut there own down but still a’nit shit but to still slave for the white mans pockets instead of coming together …wonder why you don’t hear all this crap from the Ppl Katt talks about bc they richer and grinding and don’t care🤷⁉️

      3. I personally don’t like Steve Harvey and believes every bad thing that is said about him. He is very arrogant and forgets where he came from.

      4. Dave Chappelle took it like a man when everyone was calling him crazy and a crackhead for quitting his show. He still didn’t go on tv and radio talking sh-t about people, getting into altercations, going in and out of jail, gossiping and tearing other Black folks down. THAT’S a principled stand. Katt should have followed Chappelle’s lead and he, too, could have come back GOATED. But instead he’s griping, snitching and catching people with strays. It’s ugly, petty and self-destructive.

      5. Perhaps, the bridges were already burned intentionally and he is now he really don’t care because he doesn’t want to play the Hollywood Powers political game and turn the other cheek. That does happen with age. You realize you rather just live in your truth. You get to a certain age and you really don’t care. It’s not like he lost any friends 🤣. Kat def shared his perspective because we all have them BUT he dropped some truth too. Bernie and Steve were at odds. Steve did share a similar joke after Cooper shared his. Now, I can also think for my own and I still like them all. But I won’t degrade a man for sharing his truth because quite honestly, I wasn’t there 😇. So 🤷🏽‍♀️. I’ll still watch them all.

      6. Wow… you must be the powers that B in Hollywood, one of the individuals he is talking about, or, better yet, a Bully. What you’re saying is no matter if you unwillingly get assaulted or even f’ from behind, to just take it like a man. Then you will become the real GOAT 🤯. People are different and are entitled to handle things differently. And I HATE the word snitched. If you see someone doing something wrong and you say nothing, you are just as guilty as the person doing the wrong. You might even be worse than that person. You should sit back and reevaluate yourself and your ethics because that type of attitude from anyone is ugly and destructive to the world. I believe, see it, speak out. The truth and support will change things for the better.

    4. The whole reason Katt said anything is because publicly and privately the ppl he’s targeting tried to discredit him. Now when he sets the record straight he’s a “hater”. Katt has ACTIVELY been doing comedy tours and shows love to younger comedians. This is what it looks like when you DON’T sellout.
