Former Da Band [click to read] singer Sara Stokes was arrested on Sunday, August 2 for domestic violence. TMZ reports that the singer stabbed her husband after the couple got into an argument.
Before stabbing her husband Stokes tripped after attempting to leave the house and accused her husband of being responsible for her fall. This is when Stokes stabbed her husband in the arm in front of the couples children.
“Sara and Tony have a very passionate and loving relationship that on August 2, while having an evening of fun, she slipped and fell, hitting her head heavily on the ground and somehow in the process of helping her Tony got injured,” Stokes’ lawyer Eric Kayira told TMZ.
So far charges have not been made against Stokes.
In an interview with the New York Post, legendary rapper Rakim [click to read] speaks on his new album The Seventh Seal and why the album lacks production from Dr. Dre and Eric B.
“Too many creative differences. [Dre] wanted to go in one direction, and I wanted to go in another,” Rakim told the New York Post. “I really wish we could’ve gotten on the same page, and an album would’ve come out like four years ago. There weren’t any bridges burned, though, so hopefully we can work together again.”
“I used a bunch of hungry, talented guys — Needlz, Nottz and my best-kept secret, Nick Wiz, who I’ve been working with for years. I spoke with Eric B before I started recording, and we both decided it was in our best interest not to collaborate,” said Rakim.
Rakim will be previewing tracks from The Seventh Seal on Thursday, August 13 at New York City’s Highline Ballroom. Rakim will also be performing at Funkmaster Flex‘s birthday bash at B.B. King‘s in New York City on August 21.
The Seventh Seal will be released some time this fall.
Although he’s currently serving a year and a day prison sentence, rapper TI [click to read] has still managed to top the Billboard charts yet again.
“Remember Me”, featuring TI and Mary J. Blige has managed to secure the Number 29 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also boasts an impressive 81,000 downloads.
