DX News Bits: Play N Skillz, J.J. Brown

    As of this week producers Play N Skillz [click to read] have become the latest talent to sign to SRC/Universal Records. As part of their deal with SRC/Universal Records Play N Skillz [click to watch] will have their own imprint, G4 Musik.

For Steve, along with SRC President Gaby Acevedo to help seal the deal, on G4 Muzik is very monumental for us and verify’s that we are on the right track.”

    Inertia, a Dallas based rapper, will be the first artist to release music through G4 Muzik. “Body”, Inertia’s first single will be released next month. The track is produced by Play N Skillz and features Slim from R&B group 112.

    Producer J.J. Brown [click to watch] and audio engineer DanThe DeaconMaier are teaming up to release J.J. Brown’s debut solo album Connect The Dots.

    “The phrase ‘Connect The Dots.’ actually comes up a lot in the studio because 99% of this industry is hustle, and the harder you’re grinding, the more people you end up knowing,”
    J.J. Brown explained in a statement. “The real trick is to be clever with how you connect all the dots to make yourself a part of the most fruitful network possible for where you’re trying to go. My album came together just like that from every guest appearance to every VIP behind the scenes making it happen.”

    Connect The Dots will feature a number of noteworthy appearances from artists such as Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, Reef The Lost Cauze, Homeboy Sandman, Nola Darling, Poison Pen, and more. The album will be released on November 10.
