DX News Bits: Ahmad and Roccett

Ahmad, widely known for his hit “Back in the Day,” is returning with new music. His first releases have been by way of a mixtape, one that featured three of his songs. DJ Far’s Western Conference All-Stars Mixtape featured Ahmad’s renditions of major hits including Jay Z’s “D.O.A.” and Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite.”

Ahmad will be releasing Death of Me next year. Recently, Ahmad also released a video of the three mixtape cuts, which can be seen below.

Roccett, who left CTE Records, was recently interviewed by The Miss Mouth Times about why he left.

“I really didn’t feel like Jeezy or the label did enough or did what they were supposed to do to help me as an artist that was on their roster. It was a lot of repeat conversations without any action. And I am not one just too sit around and wait or be the sidekick. That’s not how I’m built. I def wasn’t the only artist unhappy but I can’t speak for other artists.”

He also added that he hasn’t spoken to Jeezy in some time.

“We haven’t spoke so I wouldn’t know. The last time we spoke, he said me and him was gonna get in the studio and work and then I never heard back. I saw cuz in [Atlanta] at a video shoot and at some events, he didn’t speak so I couldn’t tell you how he feels.”

Aside from this, when asked about Jeezy squashing his beef with Gucci Mane, he replied with this:

I think rap is WWF. Put it this way, if your homie got killed, would you be cool with the people responsible for the killing?”
