DX News Bits: 50 Cent, Lil Wayne

    In a recent interview with Hollyscoop.com, Queens rapper 50 Cent gave a brief update on the status of Eminem‘s upcoming album, Relapse.

    “His new album is actually almost done,” 50 Cent explained. “When I went to Detroit to mix my song ‘I Get It In’ [click to listen] with Dr. Dre. It’s produced by Dr. Dre. Em is currently mixing his album right now. So it won’t be more than maybe two weeks before they start trying to figure out when they’ll start scheduling the release of his actual project.”

    In September 2008, Eminem confirmed with SiriusShade 45 that he was working on tracks for an album [click to read].

    When asked if he would be on the album, 50 Cent responded, “I’ll be all over the record. You kidding me? You think I won’t take advantage of the opportunity for everybody to look at me and listen to me. Yes I will.”


    Last week, rapper Lil Wayne made his debut at Park City, Utah’s Sundance Film Festival with his documentary Tha Carter.

    Described as “shockingly intimate” by the Los Angeles TimesChris Lee, Tha Carter delves into the personal life of the famed rapper.

    The documentary focuses on Lil Wayne‘s work ethic, his creative process when making music, and the rapper’s infatuation with the popular, but deadly cough syrup craze.

    Tha Carter made its Sundance debut on Saturday, January 17 and will continue to be screened this week at the festival. Tha Carter is produced by QD3 Entertainment and will be released to the public later this year.
