DX News Bits: 50 Cent, Hip Hop Birthplace

Now that rapper 50 Cent has become an active participant on the social networking Website Twitter he’s already found himself a few Twitter beefs.

The rapper has called out a number of celebrities on his Twitter page including DJ Whoo Kid and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

“Perez hilton calld me douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. wasnt his but still made me feel better,” said 50 Cent in a Tweet earlier this week.

Hilton fired back at 50 Cent with a few Tweets of his own. “You’re so transparent! And DESPERATE! Good luck with your acting career! #PinkMafiaRulesHollywoodBitch,” said Hilton in a Tweet directed at 50 Cent.

Although 50 Cent began a feud with Hilton on Twitter he also ended his beef with fellow entrepreneur/rapper Diddy.

“I talk to puffy he said nigga da shit you be doing is bad for business we can make a lot of money together. so that’s the last puffy hit lol,” 50 Cent Tweeted on September 6.

In other Hip Hop news, the historic building at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx also known as the birthplace of Hip Hop has been sold.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the mortgage for the building was bought by Workforce Housing Advisors and WinnResidential. Both companies plan on restoring the building.

The building which is located on Sedgwick and Cedar is known as the birthplace of Hip Hop because it’s where DJ Kool Herc began playing Hip Hop records.
