Dumbfoundead Drops “Foreigner” EP

A week after making the announcement on Instagram, K-Town representer and former battle rapper Dumbfoundead drops his Foreigner EP featuring the Dok2, Simon Dominic, and Tiger JK assisted lead single “Hyung.”

The EP will be one of three projects set to be released on his own independent BORN CTZN outlet. Alongside the features on “Hyung,” the EP also features guest appearances from other South Korean artists including singer G.Soul, K-pop standard Jessi and rap duo Year of the Ox, among others.

In a press release, Dumbfoundead had this to say about Foreigner‘s concept.

“The Foreigner project is for all the outsiders,” he said. “As an Asian-American (a.k.a. gyopo) I never knew where I belonged. I had two identities, neither one being fully accepting me. Even when I visited Korea, my home country, I felt like a Foreigner. While I didn’t fully understand the language, I was still embraced by those who followed my music. This mini-album is my first project ever distributed in Korea and I wanted to flip the word ‘Foreigner’ (which is usually used in a negative way) into something positive.”

Currently in Seoul, South Korea, he celebrated the release of his first Korean mini-album today (May 23) at 7:30 p.m. Korea time (6:30 a.m. EST / 3:30 a.m. PST) on various streaming outlets.

    1. why are asians so desperate to be aliens? you’re an american, everyone is a foreigner, stop complaining cause asians don’t accept you and you’re trying to fit in with blacks

        1. sorry that i can recognize the same tired bullshit all asians do when they try and sound hip hop. he’s accepted in america but koreans treat him like shit, yet somehow he is alienated in both worlds. oh no, asians have such a hard time in north america!
