Drake fans are roasting him over demands he never made, after falling for a comedian’s hoax that a tomb was being built for the rapper in downtown Toronto.

Comedian Graeme Barrett posted a fully-produced fake news story on Wednesday (January 10), where he plays the site supervisor as construction workers build a pyramid-shaped tomb for whenever Drake passes on.

“It’s got everything Drake requested for the afterlife, so there’s rooms filled with Patron, there’s room for 21 Savage, and there’s also a fully functioning OVO store,” site supervisor Barrett says.

If the joke wasn’t clear then, Barrett added that they had “an old lady curse all the items, so if someone does steal something for the rest of their life they will be followed home by the owl man.”

He also noted the only sealed item in the sarcophagus will be a pirated copy of Stranger Things, alluding to the many rumors that have swirled around Drake’s friendship with the show’s star Millie Bobby Brown.

As the clip made the rounds on Twitter/X, fans responded by clowning Drake’s ridiculous afterlife requests, seemingly failing to realize that the whole thing was a skit.

“how does drake have a tomb and he ain’t dead? [upside down smiley face] n-ggas just spend their money on anything fr,” one fan tweeted. Another insinuated the stunt was Drake’s attempt at besting JAY-Z, writing: “Drake said: Oh he wants to have an exhibit? I’m going to have a Tomb [rolling laughing emoji]'”

Many of the reactions were some variation of, “Tomb of Drake? Brother done lost it” or “the fact that drake requested a room for 21 savage in his drake tomb is….” However, some seemed to call out the fact that not enough people were talking about the monument.

In the comments of Barrett’s Instagram post, however, fans familiar with his past content caught on pretty quickly and began letting the “Drake’s the type…” jokes fly.

“Drake’s the type of guy who says ‘hehe you’ve got company’ before appearing as an ectoplasm for those trying to pillage his tomb,” one person wrote.

Someone else said: “Drake the type of guy to seal himself in the millennium puzzle for 5000 years to await the return of the shadow games.” Another added: “Drake the type of guy to say ‘you won’t be leaving here alive…’ when people rob his tomb.”
