Drake Makes $200K Basketball Trading Card Purchase

Drake has entered the trading card game. A lucrative market that has taken off in recent years, and the 6 God always keeps his ears peeled for potential investment opportunities, especially when it involves something he’s passionate about such as sports here.

Drake took to his Instagram Story to show off his 14-box purchase on Tuesday (March 15) claiming he’s “on a triple logoman hunt.”

ESPN baseball insider Kiley McDaniel provided some context on Drizzy’s latest buy. He explained that each NBA Flawless box contains 10 basketball trading cards, so the 140 cards picked up have a value of over $200,000.

The Triple Logoman Drake is referencing is new to this year’s set of trading cards. Last year, a Zion Williamson Logoman sold for $233,700. A holy grail Drizzy could be searching for is the Logoman of his good friend and NBA legend LeBron James.

With Drake being a huge fan of the NBA and a friend of the Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin, who is a huge advocate for the trading card industry, it’s no surprise to see the Toronto Raptors ambassador try his hand at the game. The trading card market has seen a major boom throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

    1. used to flip cards as a kid, they had value cuz they rare & real valuable ones were established great players how is a 2 year old rookie card rare & z only played in like 20 games not investment anymore its waiting for the bigger fool to come along

    2. I dont understand how a brand new card is worth more than Jordan’s rookie card ? The Sports card industry has become a joke like Pokemon cards or funko pops. “Limited edition” basically is the new word for scam.
