Drake gaave props to UK rapper Octavian some years back, and he’s still rocking with the burgeoning talent, as made evident by a new co-sign this week.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Friday (May 24), Drizzy shared Octavian’s latest release – which finds him going in on a beat that samples Drake and Giveon’s 2020 “Chicago Freestyle.

Drake has been rocking with Octavian since January, 2018, when Drizzy gave the UK artist the ultimate co-sign of rapping his song on camera at a Golden Globes afterparty.

“I woke up one day and it was just like Drake singing the lyrics. Everything grew from there,” Octavian told High Snobiety the following month. “But I don’t personally think it was solely because of Drake that it grew. [All it did] was help the fans that I already had confirm the fact they liked the song.”

In other news, Drake has surprisingly rapped over Metro Boomin‘s “BBL Drizzy” beat on his new collaboration with Sexyy Red.

The St. Louis rapper dropped her new album In Sexyy We Trust on Friday (May 24). It includes a song called “U My Everything” that features Drizzy.

The track is produced by Tay Keith, but part of Drake’s verse finds him rapping over the beat that Metro Boomin made to mock him.

“Why you love me? Still a mystery/ Me and the surgeon got history/ I changed a lot of girls’ lives for real/ They need a new body, they hittin’ me,” the 6 God raps before the “BBL Drizzy” instrumental kicks in.

He then spits: “BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it/ The last one, Jung, he did it for free ’cause I sent over so many past ones for him.”

“U My Everything” is Drake’s second collaboration with Sexyy Red following “Rich Baby Daddy,” which appeared on his For All the Dogs album and also featured SZA.

Metro Boomin released his “BBL Drizzy” beat on SoundCloud earlier in May as part of their ongoing feud, fueling the rumors that Drake once got a Brazilian butt lift.

The producer launched a contest encouraging fans to freestyle over the instrumental, offering the winner a free beat from him. Shortly after, he upped the ante by promising the winner a $10,000 cash prize.
