Drake did not assault a disabled journalist after unsubstantiated rumors began swirling amid his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
Online rumors began to spread last week that the 6 God had assaulted Christopher Alvarez, a journalist living with skeletal disorder Thanatophoric Dysplasia, at a New York City hotel in 2023.

These were spread by an X user named EbonyPrince2K24, who shared a screenshot of security footage from a laptop that purportedly featured Drake and Alvarez.
The user cryptically warned the rapper: “To Mr. Aubrey Graham (@Drake), may this photo help jog your memory as to where you discarded those items,” referencing the items allegedly belonging to Drake that appear on the cover art for Kendrick’s diss song “Meet the Grahams.”

He also alluded to some sort of nasty incident, writing: “The issue in the photo should also jog your memory. Jimmy Brooks would not have been proud of you that night,” nodding to Drake’s wheelchair-bound character in Degrassi: The Next Generation.
After facing skepticism from fans, Ebony Prince later shared a short snippet of said security footage and wrote: “I bet you thought I didn’t have the actual goods. Silly Rabbit!”
However, the video doesn’t show any sort of physical confrontation.

Christopher Alvarez himself has now spoken out about the rampant speculation and denied any claims of an assault by Drake.
“I don’t know what any of this means,” he told the Brooklyn Eagle. “I was with Drake that night because we briefly met after dinner but all the accusations are false.”

He added: “I’ve had the privilege to be with Drake, Kendrick Lamar and other celebrities who have been very nice to me, but I don’t understand where it all got blurred with the fans. I can confirm that I was with Drake on the night of Jan. 22, 2023.
“After his NYC concert with 21 Savage, I was called to meet Drizzy at The Mark Hotel, and we had a blast listening to new beats. I am not in the position to talk about his character outside of our meetings but I can say I was not violated in any way.”

Alvarez also denied rumors that he leaked information in Drake and Kendrick’s high-profile feud, which has seen numerous scandalous allegations lobbied back and forth.
“Lastly, I have been getting a lot of spam phone calls, texts, emails and social media messages saying that I am the ‘snitch’ in this beef, that I accepted ‘hush money’ from Drake and that I was somehow in on the plan because I follow ‘underaged high school girls,’” he said.

“First, I don’t know anything about Drake and Lamar’s beef because to me life is too short to hate and I don’t follow it. Second, I’m a hard-working journalist who holds elected officials and private entities accountable; I don’t have rappers on speed dial to be ‘the mole’ or ‘snitch.’”
The spreading of unsubstantiated claims in the battle between the two Hip Hop heavyweights has been widely criticized.
Even Akademiks, a vocal supporter of Drake and unofficial mouthpiece for the Canadian in the beef, slammed the false accusations.
Referencing the stolen items on the “Meet the Grahams” cover, which can possibly be traced back to EbonyPrince2K24, the media personality said: “I think Drake knew these things were stolen. It does look like some stolen shit.”

“Drake did know that they were stolen so I don’t know if he’s trying to reverse psychology it. When Drake said he set it up, I’m taking that to be the 11-year-old daughter thing,” he continued, referencing Kendrick’s claim that the Toronto native secretly fathered a daughter.
“Because from everybody I’ve talked to including Drake, we can’t even see where this came from and Kendrick said it so definitively in what was supposed to be his biggest song. That was supposed to be the biggest exposé.”

The wild allegations relating to pedophilia, domestic abuse and infidelity have also been criticized by Charlamagne Tha God.
“I don’t like seeing these brothers Me Too-ing each other over a rap feud,” he said on The Breakfast Club. “To me, that’s corny. Like if you’re going to call somebody a pedophile, if you’re going to call someone a woman beater, you got to have some real proof. You’re going to accuse my friend and my girl of having a baby, and me thinking that that child is mine — those are some heavy accusations.

“It’s not like they’re trying to hold each other accountable; they’re just throwing these types of accusations around to attempt to ruin the image of the other, and that’s whack to me. Other than that, it’s been great.”
