The Dr. Dre and Nicole Young divorce case just gets more bizarre at every turn. According to legal docs uncovered by TMZ on Tuesday (September 8), Young wants the court to mandate that Dre sit down for a 21-hour deposition to sift through their prenup and financial issues. That’s 13 hours for the prenup in limbo and eight hours to discuss their finances.
Dre’s wife of 24 years alleges that he’s already skipped a couple of deposition meetings and wants them to take place in-person rather than over Zoom with up to $1 billion at stake. She’s also asked that the court fine him $50,000 for not complying and showing up to participate.
“I was extremely reluctant, resistant and afraid to sign the agreement and felt backed into a corner,” Young reportedly said regarding the prenup in legal documents filed in August. “Given the extraordinary pressure and intimidation by Andre, I was left with no option but to hire a lawyer (of course, with the help of Andre’s team of professionals) and unwillingly signed the agreement very shortly before our marriage.”

Last week (September 3), TMZ also reported a breakdown of the $2 million a month she’s looking for Dre to cough up. Young is seeking $10,000 for laundry, $135,000 for clothes, $60,000 for education, $900,000 for entertainment, $125,000 for charitable contributions, $100,000 to cover the mortgage, and $20,000 on a cell phone and other forms of technological communication.
Young is citing verbal abuse with a specific incident taking place on April 1 at their West Los Angeles residence and irreconcilable differences for their split. She officially filed for divorce in June.
Dre has denied all claims of abuse and is allegedly currently covering his estranged wife’s finances and paying for the Malibu home she’s staying in while they’re separated.
This woman is beyond crazy. She wants something she didn’t earn. She willingly signed the prenup to marry the man. She didn’t have to get married. At the same time, maybe this is karma for Dre how he has played Eazy E’s legacy. He gives him no credit for starting his career but Jimmy Iovine. And he has done nothing to help his kids. He could have been vocal with Tomica Woods stealing the company from them. I would have made my lawyers at their disposal. But Vanessa deserves nothing!

I see a woman clutching at straws. If ever she was genuinely married to Dre, then her divorce would be almost complete by now. A genuine candidate for divorce primarily files for piece of mind and the right to re-assert their independence. With it, they are entitled to receive their fair share of the wealth acquired during the course of the marriage in accordance with their pre-nuptual. In this case, we are witnessing a reversal of priorities by Nicole despite her citation of “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split. That factor alone casts a dark shadow over her character. Her children are grown up and living independently, she already has wealth of her own that includes income generating assets and companies in addition to what Dre is offering her so what’s the issue here!? She claims she signed the pre-nup under duress but she never raised it with her lawyers when she signed it or at anytime during her marriage, a fact that’s quite telling. With all that confusion, I’m quite sure she also has toxic team of female lawyers and friends filling her head up with nonsense too. It’s very sad indeed.
