One of hip hop’s favorite subject matters is money. Whether is underground cats talking about not having it, mainstream rappers acting like they have it or rappers who actually have it and let us know all about it. Do you ever wonder how much they really make? Well, Dr Dre, producer extraordinaire and Interscope Records executive made a whole lot in the year 2001, 31.5 million to be exact.
Dre made Forbes Magazine’s list for the highest earning celebrities, he ranked 21st. Not too bad for a man who started out selling tapes out the back of his car and making his name by DJing house parties. Dre was a busy man last year, he was the executive and contributing producer on albums in late 2000 from Xzibit and Snoop. He played the some role on D-12’s “Devil’s Night.” He made smash hits for Eve and Mary J Blige and Busta Rhymes. Late in the year he made contribution to the Training Day Soundtrack and appeared in the movie as well. Then of course he starred in “The Wash” with Snoop. He was also the executive producer and performer on the soundtrack.
