Dr. Dre, Game & Drake Among Rappers Who Gave Back In 2013

Dr. Dre, Game and Drake are among the artists who have been listed by hiphopmuseum.org as part of its list of “Hip Hop Gives Back in 2013.”

Dr. Dre was cited for his donation to the University of Southern California. “The largest Hip-Hop donation of the year came from rapper and producer Dr. Dre and Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine who donated $70 Million dollars to the University of Southern California,” the article says. “This money will be used to create the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young (Dr. Dre’s birth name) Academy for Arts, Technology, and the Business of Innovation. The program will launch Fall 2014.”

Drake and Game were highlighted for their donation to Ana Angel. “The two rappers donated a combined $22,500 dollars in September to Ana Angel, a woman from Tiffin, Ohio whose five children and boyfriend were killed when their house burnt to the ground,” the article says. “The money donated from the Canadian and California MCs helped cover funeral expenses for the family of Ana Angel.”

Other artists on the list included Snoop Dogg, Wale, David Banner, Birdman, YG and E-40.

      1. you have no idea what you’re talking about. since the article is talking about Drake and Game, and you’re callin them cheapskates, what does that make for the other rappers huh… exactly

    1. None of them gave back as much as JayZ. In an interview qwith Elliot Wilson, Jay Z said people shouldnt criticise his charitable efforts because his very existence, his presence is charity. Considering JayZ made a lot of appearances in 2013, he is the most charitable.

      1. And your dumb ass believe that bs from Jigga? You must be an old ass Jigga stan and not 15. Since ya name is Jerome.
