Door To Door Weed Sales?

While more and more emcees rhyme about cocaine,
real drug dealers are coming up with more sophisticated ways to traffic
the game’s former drug of choice, weed.

    According
to an Associated Press report, New York police recently broke up a
marijuana ring that allegedly brought its product straight to the
    customer’s door step… literally.

    The
customer base consisted primarily of white collar Americans, some who
feared going out to purchase the drug on the streets due to safety
    concerns.

“These are very nice, discreet people,” said Chris, during the AP interview. “There’s an unspoken trust. It’s better than going to
some street corner and getting ripped off or killed.”

The Drug Enforcement Agency learned of the group, known as Cartoon Network,
last year and after several undercover operations, arrested 12 members.
It is said that the group operated out of a call center and processed
more than 600 orders a day (and even took orders on Christmas).

Clientele included doctors, lawyers and people who conduct business on Wall Street.

John Nebel, the head of the operation, “should have been the CEO of a Fortune 500 company,” said his attorney, Steve Zissou.

Instead of gracing the pages of
    Forbes, Nebel will
likely dawn prison blues. He’s currently awaiting trial and could be
sentenced to up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.

Although the Cartoon Network has been broken up, authorities say the home delivery drug trade is not likely to slow down anytime soon.
