Donald Trump has been looking to get win over the “Black vote” in the upcoming presidential election, and a new report suggests that he’s looking to both athletes and Hip Hop artists to secure a November victory.
A new report by The Boston Herald published on Saturday (April 27) suggests that the politician is planning on holding a campaign fundraising event at New York’s Madison Square Garden, featuring Hip Hop’s best and brightest — even his allies, however, aren’t confident about this move.

“To be quite honest, the Republican Party does not have a cohesive engagement plan for Black communities,” said Darrell Scott, a Black pastor and longtime Trump ally who co-founded the National Diversity Coalition for Trump in 2016. “What it has are conservatives in communities of color who have taken it upon themselves to head our own initiatives.”
If Trump does indeed host the event, he can count on support from a number of key figures in the Hip Hop community.

Snoop Dogg, for instance, recently shared that he has “love and respect” for the GOP’s presidential candidate. Despite previously calling the controversial businessman and reality star a “racist,” he has clearly changed his mind about the 77-year-old.
“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me,” the Long Beach native said in an interview with The Sunday Times earlier this year.

The “Vato” hitmaker even praised Trump for pardoning Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris, who spent 30 years behind bars on an attempted murder charge and drug offenses.
He added: “He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
Snoop Dogg had previously been a vocal critic of Trump, who defeated Hilary Clinton in the 2016 election, before losing four years later to Joe Biden.
In 2020, the MC ripped into the New Yorker in a YouTube video, saying: “So, me and my homeboys sittin’ up here talkin’ about all the people that President Trump disrespected.

“Women, gays, transgenders, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and now veterans. Hmmm. Seems like he’s disrespecting every color in the world and everything that ain’t what he is, which is a racist.”
He continued: “With that being said, the people that voted for him got exactly what they wanted. They gave them what he said he was gon’ do. So, the next muthafucka, you better tell us what we gon’ get for your vote. You better show up and deliver, period.”
