DMX‘s second posthumous album Let Us Pray: Chapter X is set to be released on December 13.
Released through the rap legend’s longtime home of Def Jam, the album will be comprised of eight tracks, all produced by Warryn Campbell, according to Billboard.

The songs will be a combination of X’s prayers and new material recorded by a star-studded line-up of guest artists including Snoop Dogg, Killer Mike and MC Lyte, among others.
“Working on Let Us Pray: Chapter X has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for me as a creative,” said Campbell, who has also worked with the likes of Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott.

One person not involved in the project is DMX’s longtime collaborator and fellow Ruff Ryder Swizz Beatz.
Swizz previously told HipHopDX that he had more than enough material to put out another posthumous album following the success of 2021’s Exodus.
“We have other songs. Can we make a new X album? For sure,” he said. “Will I make another X album? I don’t know. It has to feel good.”
Swizz also said of Exodus: “He actually produced and had all of the direction. A lot of people wanted to see X go harder, stronger — they even blamed me for it. But it’s actually what he wanted to do.”

“He was like, ‘Yo, I don’t wanna shoot up and kill everybody in a verse — that’s not what I’m doing.’ He was preparing to go to the next level and do TV shows and he was preparing to graduate his brand.”
Swizz continued: “And so this is why he refrained from doing a bunch of aggressive songs […] It was just a different vibe. This is the music that X really listened to that people don’t know. They think he was just listening to ‘shoot ’em up, bang, bang’ music all day.

“I never heard him listening to that type of music; I always heard X listening to old classics, amazing music. And I felt that he was at a point in his life where he was like, ‘I want to change up the energy.’”
DMX tragically passed away in April 2021 at the age of 50. His death was ruled a cocaine-induced heart attack.
