Here we go again. DMX is once more
stuck in the middle of a chaotic event. The rapper, who was asked to perform at
Hot 97’s Back to School Jam, went on to give fans more than just
music.
The show was full of time
constraints which caused promoters to ask every performer to shorten their sets
to 15 minutes. When artists attempted to go beyond their time, the
sound crew cut the sound off. Reportedly, this agitated X to
a point of rage where he stormed the audio crew violently. This was after
destroying equipment on stage. Concert goers became even more enraged when
members of X‘s crew threw bottles and other objects onto the
crowd.
An unidentified woman in attendance suffered a laceration
in the head after receiving a blow from a folding metal chair as a result of
the melee. Some reports indicate the chair was first thrown onto the stage by a
fan. In retaliation, a member of X‘s posse decided to throw it back into the
crowd resulting in the head injury.
The concert was forced to come
to an end after this small riot. Some performers had to cancel their set
including Jim Jones. Dark Man has yet to make a statement regarding this event.
