To tide over her fans in the meantime, the Drumwork signee has shared new track “Brainstorming,” which features an appearance from the label’s leader Conway The Machine.
“‘Brainstorming’ is literally a collective of our thoughts,” 7xve said in a statement. “I told Con I just wanted to float on this record and calmly pop our shit in an elegant way. The chemistry we have together is easy and effortless. After how crazy the responses to ‘Won’t He Do It’ were, I thought it was only right we continue to set the tone with this record.”

Conway had previously spoken about collabing with 7xve on his new project in an interview for OkayPlayer, and said he felt her closing verse on “Won’t He Do It” would have an impact similar to that of Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” verse.
“For some reason when I heard this record, I just had the idea about [Love] just rapping until she ran out of oxygen,” Conway said. “I wanted her verse to be the moment of 2023. When we look back at this year we gonna be talking about that verse, like how we were talking about Nicki Minaj on ‘Monster.'”

He continued: “It’s one of those moments, or Foxy Brown on ‘Affirmative Action.’ Just going crazy on there. I just want everybody to shine and get their shine off. It ain’t always about me.”
Conway began signing MC’s to his Drumwork Collective back in 2021 starting with Jae Skeese, and 7xvethegenius followed soon after. Last year, she dropped off her Selx 7xve 2 EP, and joined forces with Che Noir for “Ladies Brunch” alongside Armani Caesar. She also linked with the entire Drumwork squad for a performance on Conway & Jae Skeese’s “Food.”
Meanwhile, DJ Green Lantern is currently on the international leg of Nas and Wu-Tang Clan‘s joint N.Y. State of Mind tour.
Inspired by his time on the North American leg of the tour, Green — who DJs for Nas — dropped off Wu York State of Mind back in October, a mixtape that pairs Nas rhymes and Wu beats or vice versa.

“I got really inspired DJ’ing on the New York State of Mind Tour with Nas, Wu-Tang, and Busta Rhymes,” Green Lantern told HipHopDX. “At some point I said: ‘I need to translate this magic I’m witnessing nightly into a mix for the people to ride out to.’”
