DJ Drama Confirms Lil Wayne “Dedication 5” Mixtape

Dating back to 2005, some of Hip Hop’s most mainstream mixtapes have been courtesy of DJ Drama & Lil Wayne’s Dedication series. With subsequent volumes in 2006, 2008, and 2012, these free releases have been integral to both artists’ discographies.

Yesterday (June 10), DJ Drama as well as Young Money Entertainment President Mack Maine confirmed a fifth volume in the series—Dedication 5.

While no release dates were given, The Aphilliates head asked fans to “b patient,” in terms of waiting for the effort.

Lil Wayne appeared on Drama’s first album, the Grand Hustle/Atlantic Records-backed Gangsta Grillz: The Album from 2007. In the years since, Drama has moved his imprint and his deal to the independent eOne Entertainment.
