Diddy‘s sex trafficking and racketeering case has already undergone a major development with a change of judge early in proceedings.
On Thursday (October 3), a notice was issued announcing that the case had been reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian, who took the bench just last year after being nominated by President Joe Biden.

No reason for the change has been given by the court or the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Diddy’s legal team have yet to comment on the swap.
Judge Andrew Carter was previously overseeing the high-profile case and his most significant actions to date have been repeatedly denying Diddy bail.

The Bad Boy boss has repeatedly filed new requests for bail while being held at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn ever since his arrest in New York last month.
His most recent came earlier this week, coinciding with a major change to his legal team.

The rap mogul has hired Alexandra Shapiro (no relation to defense attorney Robert Shapiro who famously represented O.J. Simpson) and Anthony Ricco, who join his existing lawyer Marc Agnifilo.
Diddy has so far been denied bail because prosecutors proved he is a “danger” and his proposed $50 million bail package was “insufficient even on risk of flight,” ruled Judge Carter.
The prosecution claimed that the 54-year-old had repeatedly reached out to alleged victims and witnesses, in at least one case attempting to convince the victim that their sexual encounters had been consensual.
They also clamed that his hefty bail package did not contain enough measures to prevent potential obstruction of witnesses.

Diddy had proposed hiring a private investigative firm to monitor his home and argued that he had already entered rehab for drug issues. He had also agreed to no non-family female visitors and weekly drug testing.
Judge Carter told Puffy before refusing him bail: “I don’t know that I think you can trust yourself, and I don’t believe that counsel has the ability to control you, given the very significant concerns I have, particularly because of substance abuse and what seem like anger issues.”
