Diddy has issued a formal statement about the horrifying video from 2016, which saw him violently attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles.

Taking to his Instagram on Sunday (May 19), the embattled Bad Boy executive issued a video statement in a location that appears to be somewhere in Brazil, where Diddy’s son, King Combs, took his girlfriend on vacation earlier this week.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was fucked up — I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses,” Combs said. “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

He continued: “I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

The video in question was obtained by CNN on Friday (May 17), in which a man identified as the embattled mogul can be seen in the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, CA, running from his hotel room, wearing nothing but a towel.

The incident, which took place on March 5, 2016, then cuts to Diddy grabbing Cassie by the neck and throwing her to the floor. He then kicks her repeatedly, grabs her personal items away from her, then kicks her once again before running back to his hotel room.

The “Me & You” singer then tries to use a hotel phone to call for assistance, which prompts the Bad Boy mogul to once again shove her down to the ground. He’s then seen sitting on a hotel chair, still wearing nothing but his towel, and throws what appears to be a vase in her direction.

Following the release of the video, REVOLT — the company from which Diddy stepped down as a chairman in November 2023, and for which he sold his final shares back in March 2024 — issued a formal statement condemning Diddy’s actions.

“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent video circulating of our former chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs,” the statement began. “Even with his recent separation from REVOLT, it is still our duty to address this matter, and recognize the direct impact it has on our staff, our audience, and the culture we represent.”

The statement continues: “REVOLT stands in solidarity with all who have been a victim of abuse and remain committed to upholding the values and integrity our community expects from us. We vehemently stand against any form of domestic abuse, and will always be a fearless advocate for truth and accountability.”
