dead prez’s Stic Says He Listens to Jay Z, M.O.P. While Working Out

For years, Stic a/k/a stic.man has been an advocate for living a healthy lifestyle and inspiring others to make positive changes. The dead prez member founded the RBG fitclub and website, an online spot where people can download workouts and recipes, as well as purchase his The Workout album.

HipHopDX recently spoke with Stic about what motivates him in the gym and what he listens to while working out.

“No plug intended, but honestly my album The Workout is in heavy rotation,” he says. “The Workout is an all-ages, health and fitness-themed album. No Cursing. No N-word.”

Besides his own album, Stic also says he listens to “Jay Z, M.O.P., [John] Coltrane, Lenny Kravitz, Ace Hood, Imagine Dragons, Rihanna, Papa Roach, Juicy J, Avicii, all types of stuff.”

In March 2014, HipHopDX spoke with stic.man about Health In Hip Hop. “With all the deaths from drug abuse and standard American diets, RBG FIT CLUB was something I developed to continue to make sure that holistic health and fitness stays relevant in the Hip Hop arenas for sure,” he said at the time. “Look at 50 Cent’s remarkable survival and triumph over nine bullet wounds to a massively sculpted physique and how he has publicly said he doesn’t drink or smoke.”

Other emcees, including 50 Cent and Immortal Technique were also a part of this roundtable discussion about health. To read the roundtable discussion, click here.
