In an interview with HipHopOfficial.com, legendary Hip Hop trio De La Soul [click to read] gave their thoughts on their legacy and what they have in store for the future.
“The coolest part about it is like running in to people over the years and they say ‘I met my wife buying your album’ or ‘I named my son Maseo.’ You know, that’s better than any reward, any award show, anything that we’ve established in [our] music career. Fans coming up to you letting you know how much the music has meant to them, that’s everything,” Maseo explained to HipHopOfficial.com.
With De La Soul’s [click to read] presence still strong in Hip Hop it’s hard to believe their debut album 3 Feet High And Rising was released over 20 years ago.
“It’s a blessing to still be here,” said Posdnous. “Still be respected by people and people wanna hear what we do live or musically.”
In their interview, De La Soul also revealed that they will be releasing a new album in 2010 as well as a series of other albums. The trio is also working on an upcoming art show.
