When David Banner [click to read] released “Something is Wrong” [click to listen], he boldly ended the song promising to “save our kids.” Now, Rhymefest, Twista and several other musicians are joining Banner on this quest by uniting to raise awareness of violence in Chicago.
The rally will take place this Tuesday, October 20. The video for “Something is Wrong” will also be shot at the same time, using the rally as a backdrop.
Chicago public schools, community organizations, politicians, city residents, churches and friends and family members of victims will all be in attendance.
According to a press release, this is meant to be a call to activism.
“Participants are uniting to call for an end to senseless violence utilizing the Hip-Hop art form as a catalyst for change and a platform for youth to engage in community awareness and activism.”
Twista, AK from Do or Die, Malik Yusef, Naledge, The Cool Kids, Crucial Conflict, and MTV’s Sway will be present.
The event will take place at George’s Music Room, which is located on 3915 West Roosevelt Rd. The video shoot will begin at 6:00am.
