Dame Dash‘s shares in Roc-A-Fella Records have had several interested buyers, according to attorney Christopher Brown — and two of those purchasers are well-known names.
In a statement to HipHopDX, Brown shared that anyone who was trying to purchase the shares directly from Dash himself was “barking up the wrong tree.” What’s more, Brown made clear that Dash has no control over the sale of the shares, and that the judgments against Dash — which total $1 million — would be satisfied with the sale of his one-third interest in Roc-A-Fella Records.

“Mr. Dash did not create this auction and is simply a judgment debtor along for the ride,” Brown wrote in the statement. “I was recently informed that the Office of Child Support Services (New York City) has added a lien to the auction in the amount of $123,562.37 for unpaid child support and Mr. Dash has a judgment against him in the case of Bunn v. Dash, 20-07389 for $30,000.00 pending in California. This too will be added. Buyer Beware when it comes to Damon Dash. My office and the United States Marshal are in control of this process. With that being said, I am negotiating with various entities to sell the judgments that are the focal point of the auction. The parties seeking to purchase the judgments fully intend to complete the auction process.”

He continued: “My team/clients has heard from two prominent New York rappers, however, the present leading candidates to purchase the judgments are World One TV and another network, and both networks are willing to pay an amount in excess of the judgments, understanding the value of this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

It’s worth noting that, per the World One TV’s Instagram page, Brown is listed as the co-founder and the Chief Administrative Officer of the company, alongside Sean A. Reid (best known for his work on The Other Side of the Ring) and Brian White (an actor perhaps best known for Stomp The Yard, and who — incidentally — played Frank in the film Dear Frank, which ended up being at the crux of the original lawsuit brought against Damon Dash).
While Brown didn’t state which “prominent New York rappers” were interested in the purchase of Roc-A-Fella, there is some speculation that the rappers in question may be Cam’ron and Ma$e, who recently snarked about the matter on their podcast.
The latest episode of It Is What It Is went live on Wednesday (February 28) and opened with moderator Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson bringing up a rumor about the co-hosts purchasing the entrepreneur’s Roc-A-Fella shares amid his legal and financial troubles.
“Let’s just say, Killa, I did for $20,” Murda said while pulling out the cash from his jacket. “Who would I sell it to? First I was thinking, ‘Man, I’d probably sell it to Drake.’ Drake probably would want to buy it from me.”
“Drake was trying to buy Evander Holyfield‘s earlobe,” Cam added laughingly. “Drake is out her copping shit — he bought Pharrell’s skateboard chains. I actually done some business with Drake. I’ll let him announce it whenever he want to announce it, but he’s out here copping shit.”

According to documents obtained by Radar Online on February 16, a judge ordered Dame to sell his shares of Roc-A-Fella Records after he allegedly refused to pay a $823k judgment to movie producer Josh Weber that stemmed from the 2016 film Dear Frank.
Both Jay and Kareem “Biggs” Burke objected to Dame having to sell his shares in an auction, on the basis that company bylaws mandate that the board of directors must first approve the sell-off. However, U.S. Magistrate Robert W. Lehrburger ruled that the former exec’s one-third ownership of Roc-A-Fella can be seized to help cover the judgment since it is his personal property.
