Columbus, Ohio emcee Copywrite is finishing up his sophomore album, The Life and Times of Peter Nelson, due to release on November 2. The veteran and member of MHz and Weathermen recently re-released his MHz Table Scraps and his 2002 solo debut, High Exhalted, both of which had gone out of print. After some retail mixtapes, a digital EP and extensive touring, Life and Times will follow eight years later.
Copywrite’s sophomore album features production from MHz member and longtime collaborator, RJD2, as well as Khrysis, !llmind, DJ Rhettmatic and Marco Polo. Additionally, vocal guests on The Life and Times of Peter Nelson include Crooked I, Dilated Peoples, Sean Price and MF Grimm, among others. Fellow MHz emcee/producer/singer, the late Camu Tao will also appear on the work as both a producer and vocalist. Last week, Camu’s posthumous solo debut, King of Hearts, released on Definitive Jux/Fat Possum Records.
To promote his government name-carrying album, Copywrite has also announced that between now and November 2, he will premier weekly freestyles on HipHopDX.com. The Ohio rapper is widely known for his freestyles for over the last decade, as they’ve appeared on mixtapes, DVDs and remain a pillar of his stage show. (August 27)

SloppyBite’s new album sales will equal the cost of a 3 piece combo at Popeye’s. There’s as many people wanting to hear him in 2010 as there are waiting for JaRule’s weed carrier’s to release some hot new shit. BELEEEE DAT.
Im wondering how long people are gonna sleep on Surock… A very very sick producer. Seen him at the BLAP producer showcase. Copywrite is an ill emcee. The cage beef is corny. Glad he got Crooked I on the album one of my fav rappers.

Anyone hating on Copy on this site must know him personally or something (and have some kind of grudge) b-c when it comes to being a RAW (rewind that line) kind of lyricists, dude is one of the best period, and def in the underground….Top 10 dope underground RAW RHYMERS: Elzhi, Crooked I (love the rest of slaughter also, but Crook is the rawest), Diabolic, Copy, Louis Logic, One Be Lo, Juice, Brother Ali, Possessed (of Rhyme Asylum), Reef the Lost Cauze…My top 30 in the underground would also have dope ppl too (this doesn’t include legends like Monch, G Rap, Masta Ace, Blackstarr, Black Thought, Canibus Common, and ppl like this who are at least somewhat more known & have been on the radio at least once since 1988)
