Less than two weeks after releasing his debut album From King to a GOD, Conway The Machine has put on a show for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) concert series. Released on Wednesday (September 23), the performance saw him run through songs from his catalog inside a diner in New York City.
The Buffalo rapper kicked things off with “Lemon” and “Front Lines” off his new album, before getting into “OverDose” from 2018’s EIF 2: Eat What U Kill. He then performed his verse from Westside Gunn‘s “The Cow,” describing the song about getting shot and losing a friend as “one of the most personal and transparent records I ever wrote.”
After 13 minutes in the booth, he closed things out with the Murda Beatz-produced “Anza” from his latest record.
Conway released his album From King to a God on September 11 with features from Method Man, Havoc, Lloyd Banks, Freddie Gibbs and more. On Monday (September 21), Conway celebrated reaching No. 126 on the Billboard 200 chart with a post about how hard he’s worked for his position.
“This may not mean much to y’all but I’m fuckin proud of myself!” he said. “When I think about all the work I put in and all the energy I put into this FKTG album, this is gratifying. I did it MY way, this is DRUMWORK! absolutely NOBODY gave me a single dollar to cook this shit up, no help from labels, no handouts no nothing, just ME and I did all this shit myself out my own pocket and I’m fuckin proud of the results!!”
He added, “Lol Love to all the fans that fuck wit me,I appreciate all the support!! I’m bouta go smoke 126 backwoods and celebrate I made it to @billboardcharts I’m lit!!”
Conway isn’t the only Griselda rapper to throw a Tiny Desk concert this year. In June, Benny The Butcher performed five songs from the comfort of his couch — revisit the performance below.

What does being black have to do with anything? Its 2020 everyone has the internet everyone has access to the same information. Everybody sees how black people really are now. Everything is exposed. Before social media and the internet people would only speculate and assume things but now you have embraced all the racial stereotypes other races have put on you and proudly displayed them for the world to see. You cant hide behind your race anymore. The whole world is woke now, look at this website for example its just glorifies every stereotype that black people say are put on to them by other races. Not anymore. You took that an ran with it but it back fired because all it did was show your true colors and proved all the things other races said about black people and made them real. I used to not care now I just feel sorry for black people. Its a shame.
What are you talking about? How are ALL BLACK PEOPLE REALLY ARE?? Are we all the same?
This site is not owned by black people, neither are the labels that continuously promote and put out negative stereotypes.
Everyone is not woke, don’t be delusional
The mass majority are sleep sheep with no education.
Day off for Labor Day, but no day off for the emancipation of slavery.
What have you been taught about true history?
Like it’s written the bad will be perceived as good and the Good as bad.
Cheer up and have a good day
