Conway The Machine has praised his younger self after turning back the clock and unearthing a throwback video of him freestyling before the fame.

The Buffalo, New York, native took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 29) with a clip of himself spitting some bars in the 716. The video shows Conway before the shooting that left him with Bell’s Palsy, which has caused weakness in the muscles on the left side of his face.

The young Conway rips an instrumental of Shyne’s “Bad Boyz” — the original of which features Barrington Levy — with rhymes about moving through the streets.

Look, you n-ggas ass backwards, but I got something for you backwards ass/ I blast ratchet, ratchet blast/ Knocking my new shit loud enough to crack the glass/ Set alarms off when I pass traffic, traffic pass/ I had a tragic past, yeah, I was a bastard that left, but that’s another story,” he raps in the clip.

The hunger that Conway shows in the clip is something he’s never lost, as fans have seen with his prolific output alongside his former Griselda cohorts. Starting with his 2014 debut mixtape, Physikal Therapy, Conway has released a project every year since.
