Cipha Sounds and Noah ’40’ Shebib had some static this week over what 40 perceived to be a slight, but it turns out they’ve actually had issues since Pusha T and Drake‘s beef.

On a new episode of his Juan Ep Is Life podcast with Peter Rosenberg published on Thursday (May 30), Ciph revealed 40 called him a “bitch” and threatened to “smack” him in the mouth in a new DM after photos of the DJ in Toronto with Dave Chappelle were posted to his Instagram page with Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Not Like Us” as the accompanying song.

After explaining that he did not actually play the song in Toronto and instead it was merely a song choice for the post made by his social media manager, Ciph told a story of another misunderstanding he and 40 once had.

“One time I put up a picture of me a Pusha T. Random. ‘Cause I just go through my phone, I look for old pictures and I put stuff up. Random,” he began. “40 hit me up, ‘Yo why’d you put that picture up?’ Don’t even know what picture he’s talking about.”

When Ciph learned it was the pic of Push, he explained he simply was posting more content to get better at sharing – but 40 wasn’t hearing it.

“‘Yo he disrespected me, he disrupted my community, he said he wanted me dead because of the MS and all that shit.’ I was like, ‘Oh, again, I don’t listen to lyrics like that. I know you and Pusha and your team had beef. I didn’t know he said that specifically.’

Cipha also explained his major ties to Push, as he was the A&R for The Clipse’s sophomore album and broke their debut single “Grindin” in New York City. Yet and still, he took the picture down out of respect.

“We had a conversation, I took it down,” Ciph said, before returning to their current issue, where 40 has since blocked him. “Why couldn’t we have done the same thing about this?”

Pusha T’s 2018 diss track aimed at Drake is arguably one of the most brutal attacks in Hip Hop history, so he is reportedly not too invested in the Canadian superstar’s ongoing beefs with Kendrick Lamar.

In a clip from the Joe Budden Podcast that began circulating online last month, co-host Ice revealed that the Clipse MC doesn’t plan on getting involved in the turmoil, as he already has a win over Drizzy with “The Story of Adidon.”

Budden began by pointing out the risks the 6 God took by mentioning K.Dot’s wife on his track, recalling how viciously the Daytona rapper hit back when Drake did that to him a few years prior. To that point, Budden said that Drizzy even including the word “push” in the song’s title [“Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)”] was bold considering his past with Pusha.

Ice, however, said none of those minor details really matter to the Virginia native.

“I talked to Push [for] about two hours Saturday — just laughing, just laughing,” he said. “He ain’t thinking about this shit, bruh. He’s laughing; he got his already.”

In tune with the above claim, the 46-year-old MC laughed off Drizzy’s current feuds quite publicly.

“I just wanted to point out that after all these years of mob talk from Drake, nobody ever laid a finger on @PUSHA_T,” a person wrote on Twitter earlier this month, to which the Grammy nominee replied: “Not a pinky nail… [crying face emoji].”
