Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson have found a creative way to give back, with a recent surprise visit to a maximum security prison.

According to TMZ, the couple visited Everglades Correctional Institution in Florida last week, to help lead a prayer with 300 incarcerated men. The Denver Broncos quarterback and the “Goodies” singer seemed to fully immerse themselves in the experience in a clip posted by God Behind Bars, the organization behind the trip.

The non-profit helps incarcerated people and their families connect with a local church. In another part of the clip, Russell read a few bible verses, before Ciara sung to the crowd.

“27 incarcerated men gave their lives to Jesus inside of a maximum security prison,” a representative of the non-profit wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (March 10). “300 incarcerated men filled the prison chapel to hear a word from @dangerusswilson. He opened the night in Isaiah, ‘Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.’ – Isaiah 43:19.”

The rep continued: “In a place so easily filled with so much division, there was a moment where Incarcerated men put their arms around each other and prayed for those struggling with anxiety and depression. After @ciara sang WAYMAKER, men came to the front and wept, giving their lives to Jesus.”

This isn’t the first time the married couple have volunteered their time to help others. Last year, The New York Post reported that Ciara and Russell Wilson paid a visit to a Children’s hospital, just a few days after he was traded from the Seahawks to the Broncos.

The couple have been dating since 2016, and officially married in 2018. Ciara has credited her breakup with Future for bringing her life and career much-needed clarity to move forward. The singer and Future were engaged briefly before ending their relationship in 2014.

The “Level Up” artist reflected on her short-lived relationship with Pluto from 2013 to 2014 in a recent interview with Women’s Health.

“I told myself I’ve got to figure out how to navigate in the next chapter of my life,” she said. “All the things I was aspiring to have at that time, even thinking about love, I was like, it’s going to happen when it’s supposed to.”

Ciara continued: “But I can’t love anybody to the best of my ability if I’m not loving on myself. I can’t be the best mom if I’m not loving on myself. So I put more focus on me, taking care of me; it was the best thing I could have done.”

In the time since tying the knot, Ciara has had two kids with Wilson, with her eight-year-old son Future Zahir becoming a big brother to Sienna and Win.

Future hasn’t spoken out much about his relationship with Ciara in recent years, but Russ and Cici did decide to split from Drake’s Super Bowl party in February when the “March Madness” rapper showed up.
