Chinx’s long-awaited second posthumous album, Legends Never Die, is upon us.

The LPsits at 14 tracks and includes the singles “For the Love” and “Like This,” both featuring Chinx’s artist Meet Sims and Chrisette Michele appearing on the latter. French Montana appears on “Legendary.”

Legends Never Die was pushed back multiple times as the late New York rapper’s team wanted to make sure everything was in place. Chinx’s manager, Douglas “Biggs” Ellison, told HipHopDX about the importance of following up the first posthumous album, Welcome to JFK, which landed at #21 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart upon its release last August.

“Of course when you put out another project, the first thing you’re doing is competing with yourself,” Biggs said, “because you want it to be just as good as, if not better than the last body of work that you did. So with that being said, I think I’m being a lot more critical this time around because with the last project he had heard almost every record that was going on it and this time it’s more of a process of just going through the records and putting together a story making sure it makes sense.”

Chinx was shot and killed last May in Queens, New York. His murder is still unsolved.

Besides his music, Chinx is being honored through the Lionel C. Pickens Foundation, which seeks to provide scholarships for kids from his hometown as well as other resources needed by the community.

“It’s unfortunate that we live in a society where it’s easier to take a life, than help one another pursue dreams,” the post says. “Chinx embodied the essence of hip-hop and continues to maintain relevance in the music industry even after a year’s time. It is our hope that much like Welcome To JFK, his sophomore project, Legends Never Die will exemplify what it means to be a lasting, classic name in the industry. Our goal is to let the cowards know while they may have taken his physical life, his spirit lives on and speaks to us all, through his music. We will continue to serve his legacy well with quality street music and make it hard out here for you haters. #YAY #JUSTICEFORCHINX #LONGLIVECHINX#LEGENDSNEVERDIE #TRMG #FOURKINGS”

Chinx’s debut album, Welcome to JFK, was released in August, three months after he was shot and killed in what is still an unsolved case.

The late rapper has appeared on various projects since his death, including French Montana’s Wave Godsand Prodigy’s R.I.P.

“I’ve never met a person with a stronger sense of loyalty and knowledge of self, understanding who he is and what he brought to the table and what was necessary to take his craft to the next level,” Biggs, Chinx’s manager said to HipHopDX about the rapper’s legacy. “Outside of the creativity, he just brought a passion to the table to win. Again, he didn’t come from the best of circumstances and he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he learned how to take the lemons that life gave him and make lemonade. He really became a master at that. There’s so many politics in the game and in this business and industry, oftentimes you have to smile when you don’t want to smile. He had learned how to shake the hand and kiss the babies and he was definitely setting himself up to win and make sure that his team won.”
