Charlamagne Tha God has partnered with iHeartMedia to announce the 2023 Black Effect Podcast Network Festival, which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.
On Tuesday (September 28), news arrived that the festival will be a one-day event and will include live podcasts and panel discussions with popular talent from Charlamagne’s Black Effect Podcast Network and more. According to the official press release, the event will take place on Saturday, April 22 from the Pullman Yards.
“In 2023, Black creators are at the forefront of a movement reverberating across today’s cultural landscape, and we’re excited to bring this to life for the community at The Black Effect Podcast Festival in Atlanta this spring,” said Charlamagne. “With this festival we want to inspire and uplift new and aspiring podcasters while also showcasing the incredible voices on The Black Effect Podcast Network.”
Charlamagne and iHeart will be featuring live podcast tapings during the festival from Black Effect’s programs including The 85 South Show, WHOREible Decisions, Big Facts, Reasonably Shady and Checking In With Michelle Williams.
The event will also provide discussions during its “Women in Podcasting Panel” and “The Business of Podcasting Panel” with hosts Chad Oubre of 85 South, Coline Witt of Eating While Broke, Jess Hilarious, Tamika Mallory of Street Politicians and Tezlyn Figaro of Straight Shot No Chaser and more.
If that wasn’t enough, guests will also be treated to several activations and a plethora of activities such as a pop-up Black-owned business marketplace, family game area, gaming tournament hosted by The Trap Nerds, a career corner and more.
Fans looking to attend the festival can do so when tickets go on sale Wednesday (March 1) at 12 p.m. ET on the Black Effect Network’s official website.
In September 2020, Charlamagne teamed with iHeartRadio to launch The Black Effect Podcast Network, a service dedicated to uplifting Black culture and Black voices. Through the joint venture, Charlamagne curated a list of podcasts that incite moving conversations around social justice, pop culture, sports, mental health, news, politics, comedy and more.
With over 29 shows under its umbrella, The Black Effect Podcast Network offers new and established content creators and storytellers a space to showcase their creative vision, which would often get marginalized and neglected at other companies.
Why? Just why? So what does this do other than remind everybody including themselves about being black? We’re talking about a black podcast festival here lol I don’t think they realize everybody is laughing at this kind of stuff. I could barely make it through the article. I’m pretty sure stuff like this is doing more harm than good.
“Hey kids there’s a new podcast festival coming to town next week!” “Really?! That’s awesome! We love listening to podcasts. Can we go? Please! Please!” “No I’m sorry kids we can’t.” “Ahhh but why not? We don’t have school that day.” “Well… we’re not black.” “…. uhm… wait what?
“But mommy it’s okay! My black friend at school said that his people had to fight for their rights a long time ago. He said back then they had whites only signs and festivals for white people where only white people were preferred to show up. He said all of that is over and they fought and beat segregation. No more segregation and holding festivals for only white people. So that means it can’t be true!” “…… Honey just nod your head and smile and just act like you understand. Mommy’s doing the same. Just shush it ok? The second you start asking legitimate questions you will be considered a racist even though you aren’t even racist.” “… uhm what?” “Billy I told you to shush it okay? Stop trying to make sense of all of this. Go play with Tyrone down the street near the black college. You will see it from a mile away because of the black expo festival is being held there. It’s right off MLK street next to the BET headquarters building. Take a left and you will then see another parade celebrating black history month.” “Black month?” “Billy shut your mouth okay and listen. You’re really start to frustrate me. Pass the parade onto the next street and to the right you will finally see Tyrone at the basketball tournament. Make sure you kneel before the games with everybody else. Don’t ask. I’ll explain that one later.” “Mommy I’m home!” Oh great! How was it?” “It was really fun, but people were calling me a white boy and it made me feel like I wasn’t accepted. Oh Billy it’s ok they called you that. Some bad white men a long time ago who we never even heard of and have been dead for decades used to do the same thing so it’s not racist.” “Uhm what?” “Billy shut your f*ckin mouth. If you keep bringing up legitimate questions you will be looked upon as a fragile white person who is racist even though we are poor and have not seen any of these white privileges.”
Why? Just why? So what does this do other than remind everybody including themselves about being black? We’re talking about a black podcast festival here guys lol I mean wtf?
Literally going backwards in this world. Up until a few years ago when all this woke rubbish started coming out the world was making strides against racism. The majority of whites, Black’s Asians etc were getting on just fine. For 80s and 90s kids it was the norm to go to school and have friends of other races, slowly but surely racism was on its way out. Then comes the woke crowd, full on around 2016 (coincidence Trump won?) With the white liberals telling black people how they should feel and the white liberals thinking they know best for black people. Can’t you lot see? This is what the elite is wanting. All this is doing is turning them strides we made against racism in the 80s, 90s etc undo itself. When you have black only this, black only that it is turning people to start hating again. This, like I say is what the elite want. Have you noticed how it is cool and ok now to be racist against whites? Also what about the Asian population? That is bigger than the black population. It’s just getting beyond the joke now and you idiots are falling for it.
A group of white kids beat up a black kid and steals his money. Hate crime. A group of black kids beating up a white kid and steal his money. Mugged. Yeah it’s sad really. Asians were forced into concentration camps not even a hundred years ago. Where is the Asian podcast festival? Where are all the Hispanic colleges? I’ve never even heard of one. Plenty of racism towards Hispanics these days with a way bigger population than blacks in the US. I am all for movements against racism, police brutality, etc. Nothing wrong with trying to bring attention to these issues, but it’s just not good attention. Not the right way to go about this. They just don’t know because nobody can say anything even if they have good intentions because they are immediately looked upon as racist. They didn’t think this one through. It’s gone too far to the point we now have black podcast festivals. Omg. Please tell this is a joke so most white people would be laughing with you rather than laughing at you.
Racist Mofos
I’m guessing segregation only illegal when a white person tries iI. Bc blCk people do it everyday now
