Charges Dropped Against Six Men Involved In Waka Flocka Shooting

Six men involved in a shooting that took place while rapper Waka Flocka was greeting fans at a North Carolina car stereo shop in February will no longer face charges stemming from the incident.

According to The Charlotte Observer, a prosecutor in the case dropped the charges against the men because none of the witnesses could identify any of the shooters and there just wasn’t enough evidence in the case.

“We didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute any of them,” District Attorney Andrew Murray explained to The Charlotte Observer. “The defendants are still in custody. That’s why we need to dismiss the charges now. I’m not thrilled about having to dismiss these charges. Some of these guys have felony records.”

A rep for the rapper explained that the shooting took place because the six men were trying to steal Waka Flocka’s jewelry which may have been worth about $100,000.

As a result of the shooting one of the suspects, Antonio Stukes, sustained a gunshot wound and was later taken to a local hospital where he was identified by police as one of the suspects in the shooting.

Stukes’ attorney explained that he was merely trying to speak with Waka Flocka about getting a record deal.

“He was an innocent bystander who only went there to talk to Mr. Waka about getting a record deal,” said Stukes’ attorney, Adam Seifer.

The charges dropped included attempted armed robbery, conspiracy, and discharging a gun into occupied property.
