Charges Against Star Dropped, DJ Issues Warning

It’s been nearly three months since Star was given the boot from NYC radio station Power 105 for threatening rival Hot 97 personality DJ Envy’s
    daughter on air.

Star was arrested shortly after the on air incident, which
included remarks about him “doing an R.
    Kelly”
on the child’s face. A fire storm of controversy erupted, but area
prosecutors announced yesterday that they will not file charges against Star.

According to a New York Times article, District Attorney
    spokeswoman Barbara Thompson said
the charges were dropped because “it spares the 4-year-old victim from
    any further attention or exposure.”

As an added stipulation, Star must perform three days of community service and avoid all
contact with DJ Envy and his family,
    via an order of protection.

    Star, who has
been relatively silent since his departure from Power, issued a statement following the announcement.

    “This was the biggest
story in regards to freedom of speech in quite some time,”
    the
controversial personality said of the decision.

On the heels of the dismissal, Star also issued a warning to others working for mass media
    outlets.

    “If you’re in the
media you’d better know what happened to me,”
he cautioned, “or else you’ll just be another sheep
sitting around, and all of a sudden one day you’ll be told that you don’t
represent the demands of a certain community and then you’re out of a job.”
