Cassidy Sounds off on Freedom

We all know Cassidy had to face time behind bars recently. What we don’t know is how he got through it and what he plans on doing now. Cassidy shared his experience and his plans for the future in order to let fans in on how life has been for the emcee.

“The way they try to prosecute you, it’s just crazy. Anybody can come and give a statement, and they’ll just lock you up. The system is kinda crazy. [The trial] was one of the worst situations I’ve been through, sitting in the jail, knowing that I should be out in the street. It could go one way and you can be home again, or you could be gone forever. It was hard to go though it. But through my faith in God, I was able to go through it and come out a lot better than people thought,” he noted to MTV.

The fact is, Cass claims he was able to benefit from the incarceration in more ways than one. He even feels he’s better because of it.

“Now that it’s all over, I’m happy. I can benefit from the situation, getting closer to God, my real friends, people I work with, understanding how everything is supposed to move, not taking everything for granted. When you lose things you take for granted, you realize how important they are. Like, a bottle of spring water is something you can’t get access to in jail,” he claimed.

What he did get access to was Lil Kim’s letters. According to the report, the two wrote to one another while both serving time.

Another benefit jailtime offered was the ammount of time it gave Cass to think of new concepts and songs. He claims it shouldn’t take long to hear new material and that he is anxious to hit the studio to share his emotions. Swizz Beats was also anticipating an album from Cass in the near future.

    Expect a Cassidy album soon.
