It was previously reported that Cassidy (born Barry Reese) was in New Jersey on his way to a studio session in Yonkers, when a U-Haul truck swerved into oncoming traffic, striking the side of the vehicle Cassidy was riding in. Sitting in the rear passenger side seat, he suffered a fractured skull and broken bones on the left side of his face, in addition to several other enemies.
A publicist for J Records has released statements yesterday stating that Cassidy is in grave condition, but expected to survive.
