Casanova‘s troubles with the law keep piling up as he has caught another charge just weeks after being denied an early release from prison.
On Wednesday (December 13), the Haitian-American rapper shared an update about his current situation as he remains behind bars as part of his 15-year sentence in a racketeering case that involved drug dealing and murder.
“Early christmas gift they just charge me for a stabbing in NJ,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “YOU CANT EVEN DEFEND YOUR SELF THEY JUST WANT YOU TO LAYDOWN AND DIE/ back to court on Friday.”

In August, Casanova and his lawyer made their bid for an early end to his incarceration on grounds of “extraordinary acceptance of responsibility,” asserting that the outcome of the his actions do not fit the legal definition of “robbery.” Though the “Set Trippin” hitmaker has not denied the claims made against him, he does believe the ramifications do not fairly match the crime.
Earlier this month, he was denied the plea on the basis of already having received a sentence at the “bottom of the sentencing range.” The judge also pointed out that Cas has yet to serve even 20 percent of his time in prison.
In his letter to the judge, the Roc Nation MC admitted his part in the crimes he’d been accused of and noted he’d distanced himself from the Gorilla Stone Nation gang, but that clearly didn’t work in his favor.
According to TMZ, the justice upheld the initial ruling by saying that the New York native hasn’t proven that he’s no longer a danger to anyone in the community.
The 36-year-old’s punishment was based largely around a 2018 incident that involved him allegedly assaulting a woman for taking a video of him at a diner.
He is said to have violently snatched Niya Rucker’s cellphone and then deleted footage of himself from it after she recorded him without consent. For that, he was slapped with two counts of felony robbery, which his legal team is now disputing because the victim left the restaurant with her phone.
2 counts of felony robbery for taking someone’s phone and deleting photos..wow
Is it the justice system or is it you? The system is flawed yes. But people still put themselves in unlawful situations. You have to take responsibility for the justice system grabbing you.
Knucklehead. He’s always been the black Tekashi in my opinion.
