Cardi B has been ordered to halt her collection efforts against disgraced vlogger Tasha K, at least for the moment.

Court documents obtained by HipHopDX reveal that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper (real name Belcalis Almanzar) was one of thirty debtors notified about the Unwine with Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe) filing. Cardi B was notified of the filing through her attorney, Lisa Moore. Other parties that were notified of the filing included the IRS, the Broward County Tax Collector, the Florida Department of Revenue, and Bank of America.

The notification makes clear that all collection efforts by all parties must be halted as of Friday (June 2) while the courts sort out Tasha K’s finances. “The filing of the case imposed an automatic stay against most collection activities. This means that creditors generally may not take action to collect debts from the debtors or the debtors’ property,” reads the order. “For example, while the stay is in effect, creditors cannot sue, garnish wages, assert a deficiency, repossess property, or otherwise try to collect from the debtors.”

The order continues: “Creditors cannot demand repayment from debtors by mail, phone, or otherwise. Creditors who violate the stay can be required to pay actual and punitive damages and attorney’s fees. Under certain circumstances, the stay may be limited to 30 days or not exist at all, although debtors can ask the court to extend or impose a stay.”

A status conference on the matter is set for July 19 before the Hon. Scott M. Grossman. At this status conference, Tasha K, her attorney, and the Chapter 11 trustee — whose goal is to monitor the case, support its administration, and make recommendations and issue orders of repayment plans — must all be in attendance.

What’s more, Tasha K has until August 23 to file a repayment plan under her Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing; if she fails to do so, the bankruptcy may be discharged, and collection efforts (including those made by Cardi B) will resume.

And if Tasha fails to abide by her repayment plan once it’s filed, the bankruptcy may be discharged, and collection efforts will resume.

Tasha K filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, after a judge ordered her to pay nearly $4 million in defamation damages to Cardi.

The Grammy-winning rapper sued the blogger back in 2019 following what she believed was a malicious smear campaign involving several false statements about her, including accusing her of having herpes, using a beer bottle as a sex toy when she was an exotic dancer, working as a prostitute and abusing cocaine.

Bardi was awarded more than $2.5 million in damages and another $1.3 million in legal fees incurred by the rapper when a jury sided with her last January. Per her Chapter 11 filing, though, Tasha lists having only $95 in her Chase Bank account.

A total of her personal property–including purses, cars, clothes, engagement ring, and business-related properties–all equaled $58,595.56. She currently is not being evicted from her home.

Tasha K attempted to appeal the decision, but a judge decided to uphold the verdict in March. Cardi admitted the case had led to some mental health issues, telling the jury: “I felt extremely suicidal. I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband… Only an evil person could do that shit.”
