Cardi B and Offset‘s marriage is seemingly over for good as Cardi has filed for divorce for a second time.
The bombshell news was reported on Thursday (August 1) by TMZ, with the outlet claiming that the Bronx rap star’s decision isn’t related to cheating rumors, which have plagued their seven-year relationship.

A source close to the couple says the divorce filing has been “a long time coming” and Cardi and Offset have simply been growing apart for a while.
The insider adds that the Hip Hop power couple made an effort to reconcile earlier this year, but were unable to work through their issues.

While the split is described as amicable, Cardi has reportedly already hired a high-powered divorce lawyer and is seeking primary custody of their two children, six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave.
The couple married in September 2017 after months of dating, but their honeymoon period was quickly rocked by a cheating scandal when Offset was seemingly filmed naked with another woman.

Cardi later filed for divorce in 2020 but ultimately withdrew.
Their rollercoaster relationship hit another rough path late last year when Cardi B revealed that she had been “single” for some time.

“I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited!” she told fans on Instagram Live. “New look, new life, new everything.
“I’ve been going so hard for 2024 to go directly as I want it to. I feel like in 2017 I was single, and that’s when I worked the hardest.”
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker later tore into her estranged husband during an emotional rant, accusing him of “doing [her] dirty” and failing to show gratitude for her “help.”
“It’s so fucking sad that a n-gga like to play games with me when I’m at my most vulnerable time, when I’m not the most confident,” she vented. “They like to play games with me because he knows I’m not an easy girl.”

She added: “I’ve really been sparing you. You’ve been fucking feeling yourself because of your album and shit and you’ve really been doing me dirty after so many fucking years that I helped your ass, not even a fucking thank you that I got.
“And it’s so crazy that I gotta go the fucking internet because whenever the fuck I tell you something, you don’t take shit seriously. And I’m so tired of it! I’m so fucking tired of this [expletives]!”
