Cardi B is a mother before anything else — and in a recent series of social media posts, she talked about her concerns about child predators.

Taking to Twitter on Monday (April 10), the “Bodak Yellow” rapper talked about how the recent spate of sexual predation — especially towards children — has her worried.

“This world is full of predators,” she wrote. “They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money, power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.”

Cardi also shared that her mother wouldn’t allow her to have sleepovers when she was younger — and though she thought her mother’s concern was a sign of being overprotective, she understands why she did what she did today, as a mother herself.

There were some people on Twitter who felt that the former Love & Hip Hop star was the “wrong messenger” to deliver that message, given her past troubles with the law.

And to this, Cardi B took to Instagram Live again on Monday (April 10) to discuss how her concerns were justified, especially in the wake of the unearthing of a rather disturbing video featuring His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

The video — which was taken at an event in Northern India, though the exact date was unspecified — featured the leader of the Tibetian Buddhism movement kissing a young boy on the mouth, and following it up with an invitation to “suck his tongue,” before sticking it out and leaning towards the boy.

And though His Holiness The Dalai Lama subsequently issued an apology for his behavior, Cardi B wasn’t having it.

“This morning, I see this video of this guy — I don’t know what he is, if he’s like a monk or whatever,” she began. “I see that he kissed a boy on the mouth. And it’s just like, damn. This just goes back to the conversation I had yesterday. Some people take advantage of religion, and start doing perverted things to our children.”

She then snapped back against people who claimed she was the “wrong messenger” to deliver the message.

“Didn’t you used to rob and drug men?” she said sarcastically, presumably imitating those who were attempting to denigrate her contributions to the conversation. “Listen, y’all not gonna keep doing this. Because when it comes to weird ass predators, and rapists, and pedophiles, and shit, I’m really like, I don’t play that shit.

“And for y’all to say that I’m some kind of predator, or some kind of weird bitch, because n-ggas wanted to buy pussy from me — and a lot of y’all were like, oh, these are vulnerable men you took advantage of — these weren’t no vulnerable men,” she continued. “These were some freak ass n-ggas that like to go to the strip club, they like to get drunk … and after the strip club is closed, they like to take advantage of bitches.

“And because of that tweet, people wanna be like, oh, you the wrong messenger,” she concluded. “How am I the wrong messenger, bitch? I’m the right messenger. I’m a fucking mom.”
