Cardi B is hoping her rant against the rising costs of food throughout the U.S. could actually have a positive impact on lowering the price of groceries.
The Grammy-winning rapper used her platform to complain about how her grocery bill skyrocketed in recent months and she responded to critics who pointed to her lavish lifestyle and massive bank account.

“That just goes to show me when you become successful and you have money you’re gonna go broke soon because you’re not budgeting,” she explained. “So when I’m starting to see that groceries are like tripling up it’s like ayo, what the fuck is going on? I want to see for myself what the fuck shit is being spent on.
“Lettuce was like $2 a couple months ago now it’s like fucking $7, of course, I’m gonna say something. Because if I think that shit is crazy, I could only imagine what middle-class people or people in the hood is motherfuckin’ thinking, so yes I’m going to say something.

Cardi thinks there’s a chance her viral rant could reach those in power setting the prices and possibly convince them that grocery prices are out of control.
“And I have a big platform so I do want anyone that’s responsible for these fucking prices to put that shit the fuck down,” she clapped back at critics. “They gon’ see my shit they might put it down. So shut the fuck up.”
Cardi B voiced her frustration with her grocery store bill earlier this week as she’s feeling the financial stress of trips to the supermarket like much of America.
“Naaaaaa grocery shopping prices are ridiculous right now You might as well eat outside,” the 30-year-old mother of two wrote on Twitter. “Bitch why lettuce cost 6 dollars where I live at?”
Last month, a fan replied to her budgeting complaints by bringing up her alleged $40 million net worth, which Cardi said is actually much lower than the real number.
“I’m worth more then that and guess what ? If I don’t save , work and budget I could lose it too!” she wrote. “What makes you think that no matter how much money you got you can’t lose it all if you don’t manage your money correctly. I too have bills, responsibilities and people I have to help.”
Meanwhile, N.O.R.E. has extended an official invitation to have Cardi B appear on a future episode of his Drink Champs podcast after the two had “a great conversation.”
“I had a great conversation wit @iamcardib the other day,” he tweeted at the end of last month, “and I wanna say I respect her!!! Would love to officially invite her to drinkchamps to talk chop cheese , newports and all other greatness !!!”
