Cardi B has something new in store for the Bardi Gang and fortunately for them, it’ll drop sometime in the upcoming year.
In a new interview with Ebro in the Morning, the New York rhymer was pressed about details surrounding her long-awaited sophomore album to which she jokingly expressed she’d been hesitant to disclose as she “always feel like somebody watching me.”

“You know what? I was indecisive but I was like, you know what? I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” she began. “But it’s like I have to watch it because I always feel like somebody watching me — it’s going to come out when it’s going to come out.”
When asked whether the disc would drop before the close of the year, prior to Christmas, the “Drip” rapper continued to play coy revealing: “I can say that; it’s not going to come out this year.”
Later, Ebro attempted to gauge whether rumors of yet another Taylor Swift album release this fall, influenced Cardi’s decision to promote her upcoming project.
“I wasn’t even thinking like that — my first album and everything — I just like, for this album, I’m just holding it because I feel like I’m missing a couple of things,” she admitted.
“Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much,” she continued, divulging that she missed out on many of the things she wanted to do — such as videos and touring — following the release of her freshman album, Invasion of Privacy, as she was “super duper pregnant” at the time.
In a separate interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Cardi revealed that while she has a date and title in mind she’s “keeping it under wraps.”
“I’m kinda still working but I have a date in mind,” she began. Before addressing whether Beyoncé previously sending her flowers on her birthday was any indication she’d be on the album.
“It’s not coming out on my birthday. Matter fact, I don’t want nothing coming out in the month of October. October is my month. I don’t want no shit related to work in October, okay,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old has kept fans entertained with new music, joining forces once more with Megan Thee Stallion for a rump-shaking track titled “Bongos.”
“Bongos” is the second collaboration to come from the pairing, following 2020’s “WAP,” which broke numerous records, including nabbing the first female rap collaboration to debut at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.
