Cardi B is setting the record straight after Megan Thee Stallion fans have been blasting her for doing a song with Meg’s ex, Pardison Fontaine.

While Meg and Cardi go back for years and have multiple collabs under their belt including the chart-topping “WAP,” Pardi and Cardi also go back quite far – in fact, even further.

Pardi was a huge part of the writing team on the Bronx rapper’s 2018 debut album Invasion Of Privacy, and the pair also collaborated on Pardi’s single “Backin’ It Up” later that year.

He then began dating Meg in 2020, but a nasty breakup later ensued in 2023 with allegations that he’d cheated on her.

Fast forward to Tuesday (February 4), Pardi shared a snippet of an unreleased collab with Cardi that he’s gearing up to drop this week.

“It’s BEEN 8 YEARS @iamcardib,” he wrote with a preview of the song, titled “Toot It.” “GET THIS SONG OFF MY HARD DRIVE!!! N THEY KEEP ASKING FOR THIS!!!”

Megan fans immediately began coming for Cardi, feeling like she was doing her friend dirty – so she took to X Spaces to make it clear that she’s friends with both of them and she’s not getting in between their drama.

“I wanna make this very clear. When I fuck with two people and I like two people, I stay away from their shit,” she began. “Because when it comes to relationships, some bullshit will always happen and one thing about me – I’m gonna stay neutral and I’m gonna stay the fuck out of it. And both of y’all can attest to that that’s how I really am.

“I don’t wanna hear nothing because I fuck with both of y’all and God forbid some shit happen, I don’t want to be in the middle of nobody shit. None of that shit is my fucking business. So stop fucking harassing me, stop calling me a fucked up person, stop calling me a fuck bitch because that’s not what I am.”

In a 2023 interview with 360 With Speedy, Pardi dubbed his longtime friend a “genius” and noted that she pioneered what ultimately became the style of a lot of influencers and entertainers today.

“Cardi’s a genius, period – on so many levels,” he began. “I say this all the time. She would’ve been a star no matter what she chose to do. She would have been a star. That’s what she is. She really pioneered a lot of the energy that you see on the internet right now.”

He continued: “She’s the first person to grab her phone and really start talking shit into it, unapologetically herself. And her persona is ringing off through the industry – that highly braggadocios, highly talking shit straight ignorant shit. She crafted that from her own iPhone. That’s genius. At a time that we really ain’t have that.”
