Cam’ron Sues J. Cole Over “Ready ’24” Collab, Claims He’s Owed $500K

Cam’ron is taking J. Cole to court for allegedly failing to hold up his end of the bargain over their song “Ready ’24.”

According to TMZ, the Dipset legend has filed a lawsuit against the Dreamville star claiming that he appeared on Cole’s Might Delete Later track in exchange for either a guest verse or an appearance on his popular YouTube sports show It Is What It Is.

In the two years since the song was recorded, however, Killa Cam alleges that Cole has yet to fulfill their agreement and has repeatedly rejected his requests to record a collaboration or be a guest on his aforementioned show.

The Harlem native is seeking monetary compensation for his contribution to “Ready ’24,” asking a judge to legally declare him the co-author of the song so he can receive his fair share of its proceeds.

Cam is demanding a full accounting of the song’s earnings and estimates that he is owed at least $500,000.

Neither Cam’ron nor J. Cole have yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit.

“Ready ’24,” which samples Dipset’s classic anthem “I’m Ready” and features a rare guest verse from Cam’ron, is one of two collaborations between the pair.

They first linked up on “95. South,” the opening track on Cole’s 2021 album The Off-Season, with Cam delivering a typically braggadocious spoken word intro and outro.

Of course, this lawsuit is not the only bit of controversy surrounding J. Cole’s Might Delete Later. The mixtape, which dropped by surprise in April 2024, contained a response track to Kendrick Lamar’s explosive verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” — marking the first on-wax friction between the longtime friends.

Just days later, Cole apologized to Kendrick during his headlining performance at Dreamville Festival and promised to remove the song from streaming services — sparking mixed responses from the hip-hop community.

    4. Too many albums came out with 7 songs that last about a minute and a half – 3 minutes worth of music for $9.

    5. Cole was always trash and overrated his sensitive audience exposed already all vultures like him. Same with curtain fall kenny funny no one mentioning Kendrick whole fumble. JayZ not saving Cole he has to worry about Diddy

    6. Meanwhile Kendrick got thr curtain called on him and Drake in Milan with Steph Curry’s wife and her friends…..yeah he’s hooking up with her it makes sense. Steph down bad and it seems clear his family knows they just keep it under wraps, then again the mom was probably doing the same too.

      1. Steph Curry is gay the family is covering it up. Look back at the red table with Jada that Curry’s wife and sister were present for they stopped Ayesha from saying anymore on wanting a man. If that was your brother or son who’s wife said that you would be mad not tolerate it. They all know and it is a cover up I mean he’s in San Francisco it’s very likely it probably made him more that way.
