Cam’ron & Ma$e Respond To Backlash Over Kendrick Lamar ‘Euphoria’ Criticism

Cam’ron and Ma$e have heard the fans’ complaints about their take on Kendrick Lamar‘s “Euphoria,” and they’re finally addressing it head-on.

During the latest episode of the Come & Talk 2 Me podcast, which dropped on Thursday (May 2), the rappers-turned-podcasters told fans that their complaints are much ado about nothing.

“Do you realize that n-ggas is mad because of our opinion on the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar?” Cam’ron said to his co-host at the 2:25 mark. “I’m like, ‘yo, bro. Why we can’t have our opinion?’ I don’t get that! I don’t really get why we can’t have our opinion!”

He continued: “Secondly, this is what I wanted to say. And this is not to start a problem with anybody. West Coast people: East Coast n-ggas is not as big on the ‘coast’ shit as y’all are on the coast shit.”

The Harlem-bred sports personalities shared their thoughts on the explosive track on their show Come & Talk 2 Me on Wednesday (May 1), with both men agreeing that the 6 God is winning the battle so far.

“Drake is definitely winning from an MC standpoint,” Ma$e said, praising the Toronto native’s own recent diss songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

“It took a while for us to get the record from Kendrick and when you wait a while it gotta be outta this world. I think if Kendrick dropped this record right after ‘[Push Ups] Drop and Give Me 50,’ it would have been crazy.”

Killa Cam added: “I think Drake is winning. ‘Euphoria’ didn’t really move me. I’m expecting lyrics from Kendrick, you’re expecting certain things. The song was kinda long, it took too long to come out — pause. I’m not saying it’s bad.”

Murda interjected: “It was a good record [but] we didn’t wait a while for a good record […] It’s like when you did ‘Curtis’ [Cam’ron’s 50 Cent diss song], it’s a certain thing you gotta have in the record that Kendrick doesn’t have in his record.

“You gotta say something that make n-ggas look at the n-gga different. And when he did the, ‘I don’t want to hear you say n-gga,’ that was an angle that we already heard before.”

Cam then analyzed the entire beef between Kendrick and Drake (and others in Hip Hop), claiming the stakes aren’t as high as when he was feuding with some of his rap peers in the ’90s and ’00s.

“I’m not saying this rap beef isn’t interesting and entertaining, but when we was rap disses — and not just me, I’m saying in general — people had the potential to die or get seriously hurt,” he said. “I just don’t feel that in these battles.

“I’m not promoting [violence]; I’m happy that nobody will get hurt, hopefully. But it just felt dangerous. This doesn’t feel like a dangerous atmosphere to me.”

      1. Well yeah… but ether was worth the wait and an incredible record…. The same CANNOT be said about this Kendrick track

      2. Too bad this wasn’t nearly as good as ether, hit em up, or even 300 bars. I know y’all want Kenny to be the goat, but he’s just good for his time.

      1. Shut the fuck up, you think we think you’re cool because you’re unimpressed? suck shit loser

    1. points should be taken off for using AI tupac and snoop on a diss track. only a real life cornball would think that’s a good idea.

    2. They’re right, everyone can have an opinion. However everyone is free to agree and disagree with those opinions as well. I didn’t have an issue Kendrick’s content but his cadence, flow, delivery and voice was horrible. People like to be condescending and act like it was so deep it went over everyone’s head. No, his voice was so awful I could barely understand what he was trying to say on the first listen. Overall I don’t think anyone is a “winner”. Cole put out a soft diss then grovelled like he was on the stand and Drake made a joke about Kendrick’s height. Plus watching grown black men pull race cards on each other is a new level of stupidity. Weren’t they all yelling black lives matter a few years back? Imagine calling any of these tracks “Hit Em Up” level and actually meaning it. Anyone saying that must have started listening to hip hop just a week ago.

      1. Thank you for saying what I wanted to say. I can chill lol Kendrick sound like he’s TRYING to be funny to me rapping. Like it’s a spoof of a rap.

    3. The problem with both of their tracks is I dont care to go back to either one of them. They’re not memorable. However, drakes is the better song. At minimum, sonically speaking. I still think Ross has the best track out of all of them, still not amazing though. I don’t like the racial shots period! Colorisim is real in America and this doesn’t help.
