Cam’ron has fired back at Jim Jones‘ claim that he “backdoored” him when negotiating Dipset‘s Verzuz battle with The LOX in 2021.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday (March 2), the Harlem rap legend refuted his former groupmate’s allegation by sharing a screenshot of an alleged text message conversation between the two of them in the run up to the iconic event.

In the text exchange, Capo told Cam that he was not interested in being paid for the Verzuz, which was held at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, as it was a “bucket list” moment that he believed would lead to more business opportunities down the line.

Jones even said he was even willing to give up his share of the earnings to Cam’ron in order to make the showdown happen.

“Really I just wanna touch [that] stage in a big way and if I have to take a loss to make a gain I’m willin to,” he wrote in part.

Killa replied to his message: “It’s not about the money for me bro. It’s about n-ggas keep getting more paper [off] us [than] we get [off] us. (Supreme etc).”

“Swizz and [them] ain’t pay nobody then sold the company for 40/50m’s,” he added, referencing Swizz Beatz and Timbaland‘s sale of Verzuz to Triller Network in 2021 (a partnership which has since come to an acrimonous end).

“[I’m] tryna get back for what they did to the cold crush lol.”

In his Instagram caption, Cam’ron hit back at Jim Jones by writing: “I don’t pay half the shit n-ggas say no mind. But you know I keep the files. You wanted to do versus for free n-gga. So if you made a dollar be happy.

“Talking bout it was on ya bucket list [face with rolling eyes emoji].. stop tryna re-write history. Now u got alost in the garden and the Barclays [laughing face emojis].”

He continued: “And ya n-ggas ain’t eating unless they came with they own bread. The boy @sugadugga_ent got more money than you. And let’s bet 10M’s on that. Go get handsome a car a crib in jersey something [facepalm emoji] I’m done..FO NOW.”

Jim Jones aired out his grievances with Cam’ron and the way he oversaw Dipset’s Verzuz battle during an appearance on The Breakfast Club last week.

“Swizz, holla at me. You backdoored me, gave that man some business that you ain’t give all of us,” he said, implying that himself and fellow Diplomat Juelz Santana were excluded from negotiations.

“I need triple what I had last time, the way we put that Verzuz on fire. We had that thing looking like a championship game […] You definitely got to give me triple, Swizz, and you got to give me some real business this time.”

The “We Fly High” hitmaker then claimed that he confronted Swizz Beatz about his issues, with the Ruff Ryders producer apparently admitting fault and saying: “I did bad.”

Jones also took aim at Cam’ron over the alleged betrayal, saying: “He’ll say, ‘That’s me being a businessman.’ Nah, that’s you being a sucka doing backdoor shit. I stand on 10 toes and I break bread with my n-ggas […] I’m not one of them type of dudes.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Capo challenged Killa to a $10 million boxing match and vowed to “box his head off” — extending their war of words which has erupted in recent months.
