Yesterday (September 5) a New York City Judge postponed Busta Rhyme’s trial. The delay came as a result of both the prosecutor and defense attorney saying that they were not ready to proceed.
According to the Associated Press, the trial is postponed until November 7.
Busta, born Trevor Smith, is facing four charges in this trial: assault of his former employee, assault of a fan, driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
Busta’s alleged assault of his former employee reportedly stemmed from an argument over back pay. The fan, Roberto Lebron, claims to have been assaulted after accidentally spitting on his car. Lebron filed a lawsuit against Busta last month.
As previously reported, Busta turned down several plea bargains, one of which would have landed him in jail on all four of his charges.
