Busta Rhymes hasn’t forgotten the legends. The Flipmode head hit this year’s Summer Jam stage for Hot 97 with some of Hip-Hop most prominent figures of the past, present and future.
While fans were anxious to hear old and new material from Bus, he was anxious to show off some of New York’s finest.
The emcee invited rap legends Big Daddy Kane, Rakim and Slick Rick to the stage. Each icon performed a fan favorite including Children’s Story, Warm It Up, Kane, and Eric B. is President.
Another surprise for fans was the fact that Busta brought out The Wu-Tang Clan who rocked the stage. Others Bus invited included Missy Elliot, Q-Tip and Papoose.
In related news, Wu Tang’s Raekwon has linked up with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath record label for the release of Only Built For Cuban Linx 2. The deal came through near the end of May and it appears Busta Rhymes and Dr. Dre will work closely with Rae for the final product.
