Released in September 2000 through So So Def Recordings and Columbia Records, Beware of Dog debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with 101k copies sold in the first week. It spawned the hit singles “Bounce With Me” with Xscape, “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” with Snoop Dogg and “Puppy Love” with Jagged Edge, solidifying the then-13-year-old as a superstar.
The LP was certified double platinum in March 2001 – so the 4x platinum status arrives over 20 years later!
Last month, Bow Wow teased his return to music – and it looks like Chris Brown will be involved.
Speaking to fans on Instagram Live in March, Bow revealed that he’s plotting a musical comeback and has a collaboration with his close friend Breezy on the way.

“Shoutout to my brother CB. I love you, brother. Thank you for the shoutout. I’m not going to make the announcement today, but me and CB got some shit. And that’s all I’m gonna say. I just want to bless y’all with what I’ve been working on for so long, for the past year and a half. Music is on the way. More music is on the way. More music…
He added: “You see how I didn’t say no movies, right? Music. I’m back on my shit. And I’m telling y’all now, if you ever counted me out, I feel bad for you.”
Bow Wow’s last album, New Jack City II, arrived in 2009, although he released a series of mixtapes in subsequent years, with the most recent being 2019’s Greenlight 6.
